The Hampton Economic Development Authority (EDA) created the NASA Langley Research Center Technology Commercialization Grant to stimulate technology transfer, commercialization opportunities and new business creation tied to the NASA LaRC. The EDA has since broadened this opportunity to pertain to all NASA technology, regardless of the center at which it was developed. Ultimately, this grant a) encourages and assists Hampton companies to commercialize NASA technologies and intellectual property available for licensing and, b) encourages the current and former NASA civil servant workforce to form new businesses resulting in new products, investments and job creation.
